Financial privacy, and why it matters

Transaction data reveals almost everything about a person — where they live, what they buy, who they support, when they travel. A finance app is either built to protect that or built to profit from it.

A year of your bank statements is a biography. Health, politics, relationships and habits all show up in categorized spending — and once that data is on someone else's server, you no longer control who sees it.

Free apps typically monetise via ads, affiliate offers or aggregated data sales. That model needs your data on their servers.

KRONO takes the opposite bet: paid subscription, no ads, no data sales, no cloud storage of your finances.

Your accounts, transactions and categories live on your iPhone. Analytics and insights run on-device. Krono AS does not operate a central database of your bank data.

If you want to share with a partner or family, KRONO syncs privately through your own iCloud with the people you choose. You decide who's in and can revoke at any time.

Where is my data stored? On your device, encrypted by iOS. Optional household sharing goes through your own iCloud.

Do you sell or share my data? No — we do not collect it in the first place. There is nothing to sell.

Is this GDPR compliant? Yes. KRONO is designed for GDPR and PSD2 from the ground up, and bank connections are read-only and time-limited.
